Oak Headboard Wall & Floating Nightstand

Fitted bedroom joinery does not have to mean a wall of wardrobes. In this master bedroom the brief was warmth and calm, so the focal point is an oak-veneer headboard wall that wraps behind the bed, with a floating nightstand built into the panelling.

The panels run the full width behind the bed and turn the wall into a single warm surface that frames the upholstered headboard. The nightstand is cantilevered from the panelling, leaving the floor clear underneath, and gives space for a lamp, phone and books. The oak tone was chosen to sit well with the engineered oak floor, so wall and floor feel like one design.
