Pergolas & Outdoor

Timber pergolas, gazebos, decking, fences, gates and carports built for outdoor living in Cyprus. A craftsman visits for free to measure, check the ground and design a structure that suits your terrace or garden.

What we make

Outdoor woodwork made for Cyprus summers

In Cyprus the terrace is a second living room for much of the year. A well-built pergola gives shade over dining tables and sun loungers, a deck turns uneven ground into usable space, and timber fences and gates add privacy without the harsh look of concrete.

What we build

  • Timber pergolas — freestanding or wall-mounted, with slatted roofs, shade sails, reed or bamboo, or polycarbonate panels
  • Gazebos for gardens and pool areas
  • Decking in hardwood, thermowood or composite, around pools and on roof terraces
  • Fences and gates in horizontal slats or traditional designs
  • Carports that shade your car from the summer sun

Built to handle sun, wind and sea air

Timber outdoors in Cyprus faces intense UV, very dry summers, winter storms and, near the coast, salt. Our craftsmen use pressure-treated pine, thermowood or durable hardwoods, stainless or galvanised fixings, and post bases that keep timber off wet ground. Structures are sized for the wind exposure of your site, whether that is a sheltered courtyard in Nicosia or an exposed hillside in Peyia.

Permits and planning

Some larger structures may need permission from the local authority. Your craftsman will tell you if anything in your plans is likely to need approval so you can check before work starts.

Maintenance

All outdoor timber needs care. You will receive simple advice on oiling or staining intervals so your pergola or deck keeps its colour and lasts.

One enquiry, the right team

Cyprus Woodworks passes your request to a vetted outdoor-joinery workshop that covers your area. The site visit is free and you get a written quote before any work begins.

How it works

  1. Send photos of the space — and rough sizes of the area you want to cover.
  2. Free site visit — measuring, checking the ground and walls, discussing roof types and finishes.
  3. Design and quote — a simple drawing with post positions and a written quote.
  4. Preparation — timber is cut, treated and finished in the workshop where possible.
  5. Installation — posts, beams and roofing installed on site, usually within a few days.

Typical lead time: Typically 2–6 weeks from approval depending on size, timber and the season. Spring is the busiest time, so book early.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a wooden pergola cost in Cyprus?

It depends on the covered area, timber, roof type, foundations and access. Our price guide shows current ranges set by our team. After a free site visit you receive a written quote for your design.

Which wood lasts longest outdoors in Cyprus?

Thermowood and durable hardwoods such as iroko last longest with the least maintenance. Pressure-treated pine is more economical and performs well when finished and maintained regularly.

Do I need a permit for a pergola in Cyprus?

Smaller open pergolas often do not, but larger or covered structures may need approval. Rules vary, so check with your local authority; your craftsman will flag anything that might need permission.

How long does it take to build a pergola?

Most pergolas are installed in a few days once the timber is prepared. From approval to completion it is typically 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the season.

What decking is best around a swimming pool?

Hardwood, thermowood and quality composite boards with a grooved or textured surface are good choices around pools because they cope with water and give better grip.
