Arched Iroko Front Door with Horizontal Boards

Paphos

A traditional Mediterranean opening deserves a door made for it. This home had a round-arched entrance in a white rendered wall, and a standard rectangular door would have left an awkward infill above. Instead, the door and frame were made to follow the exact curve of the arch.

The door is built in solid iroko with horizontal boards that run edge to edge across the arch, so the curve is formed by the timber itself. A fixed arched top section sits above the opening leaf, and the frame is matched in iroko for a seamless look from both outside and inside.

  • Arched frame templated to the existing opening
  • Horizontal iroko boards across leaf and fixed arch
  • Discreet black handle and lock
  • Clear exterior finish to keep the warm natural colour

Arched doors take careful templating: the curve of an old opening is rarely perfect, so we measure it on site before anything is made. Like every project in our network of joinery workshops, it was priced after a free site visit and measurement.
